Cute pic of a gerbil, plus I'm speaking in L.A., CA.

I couldn't resist putting up this pic of a gerbil. Hamsters are a little like gerbils and both are so cute!

Make sure you mark your calendar, or tell anyone you know in the Los Angeles area who might be interested, that I'm speaking in Los Angeles and signing books (they'll sell them there, too, if you don't have one to sign), on Dec 14. Here are the specifics:

Stacey at Audubon Center in Los Angeles
Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 7:00pm
Audubon Center at Debs Park, Los Angeles, CA
The event is free and open to the public.

Hope to see you there!

I saw a barn owl on the way to work the other day. It flew overhead and landed high up in a pine tree and turned its head as though looking at me. I thought of you (since your book has meant so much to me) and in the same timeframe was told about a doctor in Texas that treats cancer in a specific way (as my aunt is ill with stomach cancer and my uncle prostate) You probably have heard of him as he specifically is good with brain tumors.

Here is the show that I watched about him on youtube.

I don't know you personally but your blog and book speak of a beautiful strong person that has a very remarkable life. I consider you a role model and hope that the future brings you happiness.

Never give up hope!

Hi Stacey! I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I wish I could have seen you in LA, but it's hard for me to travel right now. Are you ever going to come to New Mexico to speak? Albuquerque would LOVE to have you! Many Blessings to you:)

Hello Stacey,
I have now joined your blog and it's a first for me...first blog, that is! I do this to celebrate life and love and because your book was wonderful and powerfully written, I just watched the movie, "Legends of the Guardians" and it was wonderful. I read your blog on artistic license but what you wrote about the attention to detail on the owls and their sounds, etc. prompted me to watch. And I'm glad I did!
You were right in that their eyes are very human-like but nothing like Wesley's :-)
I thoroughly enjoyed the story of you and your owl.
When are you coming to San Diego?
Best regards and best health.
